CONTROLLED ORAL WORD ASSOCIATION
This is an oral fluency test in which the subject is required to make verbal associations to different letters of the alphabet by saying all the words which he or she can think of beginning with a given letter within a specified time limit. Three letters of progressively increasing associative difficulty are presented successively as stimuli. The difficulty level of each letter was defined in terms of the relative frequency of words beginning with that letter found in standard dictionaries of the English language.
